My name is Walter Sawka. I have used Black & White photography as my primary medium for artistic expression since the late 1980's, after having seen a publication of Black & White images from Ansel Adams. Although I have not had formal training, I read many photography books, studied the images of many landscape photographers, and attended numerous lectures and workshops given by contemporary masters and lecturers, including John Sexton, Howard Bond, Dan Anderson, Ray McSavaney, Fred Picker, and Bruce Barnbaum. And of course one of my best teachers was and remains, practice, practice, practice ...>
To me, photography is much more than a hobby – it is a passion. I strive to channel my love for the outdoors into images that speak about the environment. I try to share my love of the land by showing these images to you the viewer.
